Turritella Agate

PiDefying most common agate banded appearance, Turritella Agate may not be exactly an agate but rather classified as a chalcedony.
And don't let the name fool you though, as Turritella Agate don't contain any Turritella fossils at all! It was a mistake made decades ago, but because the name was so catchy it was decided not to change.
If you look closely, you'll see tiny spiral snail like fossil studded inside this mineral - The correct fossil's name is called Elimia Tenera which is a species of freshwater snail extinct about 46 to 51 million years ago.

What can this mineral teach you?
